The Origin Story
Origin Node Group was founded in January 2026 by two operators who believe the best way to build great software companies is to actually build them — not just fund them.
Why We Exist
The traditional venture model writes checks and waits. ONG builds. Jon Butler and Todd Calloway started Origin Node Group because they saw the same pattern play out over and over — talented people with real market insight, stuck at the starting line because shipping software is hard.
With backgrounds spanning software development, AI, real estate, and operational leadership, they built ONG as a true venture studio: a company that conceives, builds, and scales SaaS products from the inside. Every venture in the portfolio is co-owned and actively developed — not passively observed.
In just the first few months, ONG has launched three active products — Human in the Loop, Aurora, and Deca Bot — with seven more in active development. The goal isn't to build the most companies. It's to build the right ones, in verticals where AI and operational expertise create an unfair advantage.
